We are seeking a dedicated Cook / Chef to manage our Back of House operations.

This is a solo kitchen role — you’ll take full ownership of food preparation and presentation in our café.

we have an accommodation $230 per week driving 5mins away from the shop. : )

???? About the Role

As the only BOH staff member, you will:

• Prepare and cook café menu items to a high standard

• Handle plating and presentation consistently during service

• Manage stock rotation, food storage, and kitchen organisation

• Ensure all food safety and hygiene practices are followed (HACCP)

• Maintain cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen

• Take responsibility for kitchen opening and closing each day

• Work closely with FOH all-rounders to deliver a smooth service

• Position: Cook / Chef (solo BOH role)

• Type: Casual (with potential for stable ongoing hours or transition to part-time/full-time)

• Location: Bribie Island, QLD

• Award coverage: Hospitality Industry (General) Award [MA000009]

• Includes casual loading, weekend/public holiday penalty rates

• Junior cooks (under 21) also encouraged to apply — junior pay rates apply as per the Award

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in cooking or food preparation (café, fast casual, or restaurant background)

• Independent & responsible – able to run the kitchen solo

• Efficient & organised – good at managing prep and service simultaneously

• Positive & team-oriented – works well with FOH all-rounders

• Flexible – willing to adapt and problem-solve during busy service
